Wal-Mart leaks Zune price — $284?

With all the hype in the soon to be launch Microsoft Zune, I think the guys in Wal-Mart tries to capture some free attention from the blogging world - by accidentally releasing the yet to be announce price tag for Microsoft Zune. I’m not sure if they done that on purpose or its an act of mistake - but one thing for sure, its gonna reflect bad on rt on the long run.

Would be buyers now has a $284 price tag from Wal-Mart imprint into their mind, and they’ll compare the $284 price with other stores. End of the day, its gonna be $284 vs “cheaper than $284″. Most of these people won’t even bother checking the price. With Apple fighting back by lowering the ipod price and up the spec, $284 is alot when you compare it with Apple’s ipod. Microsoft - please lower the price and hire some real designers.

Wal-Mart rumor alert: to sell the iPhone?

Word on the street is that a deal is in the works for Wal-Mart to become the next major retailer to sell Apple’s iPhone.

However, neither Apple nor Wal-Mart are commenting on the rumor — which of course means that it’s true.

Actually, if this is true, this would be a very very smart move on Apple’s part. Offer the iPhone to a much bigger demographic. Honestly, when I think of buying a cell phone (or smartphone.. whatever), Wal-Mart isn’t the place I would think to go. But maybe this could change my mind.

Although, in the case of Apple, I doubt we’ll have to look out for falling prices.

Or maybe I’m wrong? Uh oh. A $99 iPhone? These rumors are getting out of hand. Or are they?
